About the Institution We are establishing a multi-gallery art and cultural center in Ubud as a long-term platform for exhibitions, research, and cultural exchange. The establishment will span approximately 5,000 sqm and include multiple exhibition spaces, public program areas, and supporting facilities. Currently in its pre-opening phase, the institution is building the operational, curatorial, and administrative systems required for a professional and sustainable art center. From the outset, we are committed to institutional standards in artwork handling, documentation, and governance. About the Role The Gallery Manager (Exhibitions & Curatorial Coordination) is responsible for planning and executing exhibitions across the institution, ensuring that each exhibition is delivered to a high professional standard. This role sits at the intersection of operations and curatorial work, translating ideas into well-managed, executable exhibitions. The role includes a curatorial component, where the Gallery Manager contributes to exhibition concepts, research, and artist coordination. Curatorial work is carried out independently for smaller-scale exhibitions, and in collaboration with external curators for larger or more specialized projects.

Tanggung jawab: Exhibition Planning & Execution; Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of exhibitions, from planning and scheduling to installation and deinstallation; Translating curatorial concepts into execution plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; Overseeing exhibition production and logistics, including fabrication, transport, handling, and installation; Coordinating with artists, lenders, external curators, and vendors to ensure smooth execution; Together with Venue and Facility Manager supervisor gallery sitters and other daily workers during exhibition opening; Governance & Collection Management; Ensuring exhibitions meet institutional standards in documentation, display, safety, and public presentation; Monitoring and controlling exhibition budgets to ensure efficient use of resources; Directly managing the Registrar (Asset & Collection Staff) to ensure accurate documentation, condition reporting, and artwork tracking; Conducting post-exhibition review and reporting to support continuous improvement; Curatorial Development; Contributing to exhibition concepts, themes, and artwork selection in alignment with institutional direction; Contributing research and coordinating with external curators where applicable; This role is suited for someone who is comfortable managing complex exhibition operations while contributing to curatorial thinking. It requires the ability to balance creative sensitivity with execution discipline, especially within a pre-opening environ; Minimum Qualifications; Bachelor’s degree in Curatorial Studies, Arts Management, or a related field; Minimum 5 years of experience in exhibition management, gallery operations, or museum environments, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; Experience in managing exhibitions end-to-end, including translating concepts into execution plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; Working knowledge of exhibition documentation standards and collection management practices; Professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is a must (written and verbal); Preferred Qualifications; Experience working with international artists, curators, or lenders; Exposure to cross-disciplinary or experimental exhibition formats; Experience working in institutions with formal loan procedures or collection governance standards; Experience contributing to curatorial research, writing, or exhibition text development; Starting Date: August 2026; Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in this role.
