• Coordinate, execute, and monitor all underwriting activities in line with the company's business strategy and operational objectives
• Ensure underwriting assessments are completed within the established Service Level Agreement (SLA), authority limits, and company regulations
• Oversee the process of providing medical explanations and clarifications to customers in accordance with SLA, authority limits, and applicable guidelines
• Negotiate underwriting cases and requirements with reinsurers
• Ensure the implementation of underwriting policies, procedures, and regulations, while maintaining operational discipline and compliance
• Prepare and deliver accurate, complete, and timely underwriting performance reports
• Lead and support the underwriting team to achieve operational excellence and business goals
• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences; a Medical Doctor (MD) degree is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Underwriting, within the Life Insurance industry
• Previous leadership or team management experience is required
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles, medical risk assessment, and insurance regulations
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
