About the role PT Gunanusa Utama Fabricators is seeking a Mandarin Translator (Onboard Vessel) to join our team on a full-time basis . This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic maritime environment, providing essential translation and communication support aboard our vessels. Based in Cilegon, Banten , this role is critical to ensuring smooth operations and effective communication between our international crew members and stakeholders. You will be instrumental in facilitating clear dialogue, resolving language barriers, and supporting the overall efficiency of onboard operations. Key responsibilities Provide accurate and real-time Mandarin-Indonesian-English translation services for crew communications, safety briefings, and operational discussions aboard vessels Translate technical documentation, meeting, reports, correspondence, project documents and operational procedures from English to Mandarin to Indonesian and vice versa Facilitate communication between Mandarin-speaking crew members and international team members during daily operations and emergency situations Assist with the translation of regulatory compliance documents and safety protocols to ensure all crew members understand critical information Support onboarding processes for Mandarin-speaking personnel by translating training materials and procedures Maintain accurate records of translations and communications for compliance and documentation purposes Liaise with shore-based management to relay important information and ensure effective coordination between vessel and office operations Provide cultural and linguistic guidance to promote a cohesive and inclusive working environment aboard the vessel What we're looking
