We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced 3D Surfacing Specialist / Rhino Modeler to collaborate closely with our industrial design team in developing high-end furniture products. In this role, you will transform conceptual sketches, orthographic drawings, physical mock-ups, and early-stage form explorations into highly accurate, production-ready 3D models. This is not a traditional CAD drafting or basic solid-modeling position. You will be working with complex organic forms, sophisticated surface transitions, and premium design aesthetics. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of digital surfacing, clean topology, curvature continuity, and advanced hybrid SubD-to-NURBS workflows suitable for manufacturing. Interpret conceptual sketches, design intent drawings, and physical mock-ups. Translate fluid and organic design language into precise 3D geometry while maintaining the original aesthetic vision. Collaborate closely with designers to refine forms and resolve technical challenges throughout the development process. Utilize Rhino 8 at an expert level, leveraging both SubD and NURBS workflows. Develop clean SubD topology for complex organic forms and convert models into high-quality production-grade NURBS surfaces. Build efficient, editable models that support ongoing design iterations. Create visually flawless surfaces with exceptional attention to detail. Maintain G1 (Tangency) and G2 (Curvature) continuity across complex surface networks. Perform advanced surface analysis using Zebra, Curvature Graphs, Environment Maps, and other diagnostic tools. Prepare models for engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing.
